Honest John collates real consumption data

Disgruntled at your car’s poor mpg?  You’re not alone.  With new cars carefully programmed to sip as little fuel as possible in the standard laboratory tests, it is little wonder they struggle to come close to the figures we read in the brochures.  We carry luggage, we drive into head winds, we get stuck in traffic.

Honest John, has added a useful section to his site allowing motorists to enter real world fuel consumption figures for specific makes/models.  The site shows the manufacturers’ figures along side the average plus range of values input by the public.

All that’s left is to extrapolate the real fuel consumption to determine a more realistic CO2 emission figure.  (But don’t tell the DVLA.)
